About my approach to acupuncture

Over years of dedicated practice, I have trained in a wide range of styles—from TCM and the Balance Method to Medical Acupuncture, Electro-acupuncture, and Dry Needling.

However, after performing thousands of treatments, I’ve come to consistently favor one method over the others: Neo-Classical Acupuncture, developed by Dr. Slate Burris. I now use this approach in roughly 95% of my treatments because, in my experience, it produces the most efficient and dependable results. The emphasis is on driving systemic neurological regulation rather than chasing isolated symptoms, which often leads to immediate or near-immediate resolution of what the patient is experiencing while supporting broader whole-body balance.

What's different about Neo-Classical Acupuncture?

This methodology is a refined, clinical system that bridges the gap between traditional wisdom and immediate physiological feedback. Every session involves an interactive dialogue with your nervous system via diagnostic palpation. Rather than guessing, we use specific touch techniques to identify "alarm points"—tangible areas of fascial tension or neurogenic inflammation—that pinpoint the root systemic cause.

Immediate Verification & Systemic Shift

You will often feel the sensitivity in an "alarm point" disappear within seconds of the needle being placed. At this precise moment, the entire system shifts out of a defensive state and into a parasympathetic, anti-inflammatory state.

This isn't a "wait and see" approach; as the nervous system recalibrates, localized symptoms—including pain, restriction, and inflammation—often begin to resolve immediately. In many cases, this physiological reset is so efficient that symptomatic relief is complete before you leave the table.

Fascial Release & The Guarding Reflex

Trauma and chronic stress trigger a guarding reflex—an unconscious bracing of the fascia (connective tissue) that restricts blood flow and traps the body in a persistent pain cycle.

By engaging specific neurological nodes, we "flip the switch" from a defensive to a restorative state. This allows for immediate fascial release, restored range of motion, and the systemic down-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines. While we may be addressing a specific area of dysfunction, the result is a total recalibration of your body’s inflammatory response and nervous system tone.

Results-Not Dogma

While the methodology described above is utilized in roughly 95% of my treatments, I am never dogmatic in my application. Every session at The Reset Clinic is results-oriented; I utilize the specific technique—or combination of styles—that will yield the best possible outcome for your unique case. Whether your recovery requires the surgical precision of a single distal needle or the targeted mechanical stimulation of modern dry needling or cupping, my goal is always the same: a total and lasting reset.
